Is there a wheelchair friendly chalet?
Shayamoya has one chalet that is wheelchair accessible with ramps as access. Please request Chalet 7 when making your booking. The bathroom facilities are however not adapted.
Do all the rooms enjoy the Lake view?
All the Standard chalets and the Honeymoon chalet have the Sunrise view of Lake Jozini. The Family unit is the only chalet overlooking hills of bushveld with the spectacular African Sunset.
Are all the rooms Air-conditioned?
The Honeymoon chalet is the only chalet with air-conditioning. All other units have overhead and standing fans.
How far are the chalets from the restaurant?
The Central Lodge is in the centre of the chalets. The furthest chalet is 150m from the restaurant.
Is there a generator?
Shayamoya has a 80kva generator to cope during load shedding, operating hours 7-9am and 17h30 to 22h00.
Does the Lodge have a Wi-Fi Network?
There is free wi-fi around the central lodge and reception area.
Will we see the BIG 5?
On the Shayamoya Reserve, there is a big herd of Buffalo. Thus there is an electric fence around the lodge. While on activities, you have the opportunity to see White Rhino, Elephant, Buffalo and Leopard.
When is the best time to view the Gardens in flower?
Marjority of the species are Winter flowering (June to August) which is a magnificent burst of oranges, yellows and corals throughout attracting many species of birds.
Indigenous Gardens
Well manicured pathways link the chalets with the central lodge. Marvel at the extra ordinary indigenous gardens hosting over 60 species of aloes. While strolling from the chalets, you may come across duiker, zebra and guinea fowl that roam around the lodge.
